"Demonology is the latest record by prolific Montreal based multi-instrumentalist and bandleader, Fraser Wayne. After a long stint fronting Montreal garage rock collective The Fuzzy Undertones, Wayne chose to branch off to pursue a new vision and sound. The resulting project draws heavily from a wide range of influences both familiar and foreign to Wayne’s universe, to form a sonic hybrid unlike anything he has done before. With Demonology, Fraser Wayne has assembled a cohesive yet diverse collection of songs, melding his past influences and experiences in Montreal’s rock n roll scene with newfound inspiration stemming from country, goth, punk, and spaghetti western soundtracks. The unabashedly bold and cinematic sonic texture of the record weaves it’s way through dreary, ominous, slow burning soundscapes, fiery up-tempo cuts and sweet, Americana-inspired ballads, stitched together by Wayne’s trademark booming vocals and twangy, in-your-face guitar. With each track written, performed and recorded at home by Wayne himself, the adventurous sound of Demonology is a perfect representation of Fraser Wayne’s artistic curiosity and talents. The daring, exciting, engaging, and rebellious nature of Wayne’s music is as “cowboy” as the hat on his head."
